A jacket, too big for him, was wrapped about him, the heavy warmth cutting off the early morning winter wind … followed by arms wrapping round him protectively … and a sleep-warmed cheek pressed against his temple … 'You woke up ?'
He smiled contentedly, relaxing into the embrace. 'Yes … yes … You slept well ?'
'Yes.' Warm fingers touched his cheek … 'You're cold.'
'No … just the wind …'
The softest of kisses on his temple … 'Why didn't you wake me ?'
He closed his eyes, feeling the warm lips pressed to his temple … 'You … were sleeping …'
An arm around his shoulders, the other about his waist, the warm body pressing against him … the embrace closing a little more … 'Did you sleep well ?'
He couldn't speak for a while … his throat choking a little … then swallowing … 'Yes … yes, I did …'
'Let's watch the sun rise … it's a beautiful morning …'… murmured against his forehead …
'Yes … yes …' he turned slightly, pressed his cheek against the warm silk of the throat and drew an arm around the lithe, strong waist …
Once again … fingers touching his face … lifting his head a little … and then … lips pressing gently, carefully against his … once … then, again …
He turned, pressing himself against his … friend ? … lover ? … drew his arms snug around the lithe waist … all the while still returning the gentle kiss …
He didn't see the sun rise … but even with his eyes closed to savour the kisses, it was the brightest sunrise there ever had been.
